The exterior of Philips Memorial Hall had not been modified since it was built in 1927. Our conditions assessment led to the replacement of 3,000 severely deteriorated masonry units, repointing, replacement of the slate roof and flashing, improvements to the rain water conduction system, and preservation treatment of windows and stained glass. The interior was rehabilitated to bring the building up to modern standards. The entire building received new HVAC, electrical wiring, lighting, plumbing, and fire suppression systems. The elaborate library woodwork and decorative plaster were carefully restored, meeting rooms were reclaimed, and interior spaces refinished.
