The restaurant we know and love today was established in 1906 at 125 Walnut Street and expanded over time, steadily growing from its humble beginnings into a venerable Philadelphia institution. VMA recently renovated the exterior facade, including the reconstruction of lost elements such as decorative cornice brackets, cast–iron and stained glass entrance canopy and vestibule. We also prepared applications and coordinated with the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission to get the project approved for Federal Rehabiliation Tax Credits for this Philadelphia landmark.
