The nation’s oldest boarding school is planning a new Arts Center which will provide dedicated space for the theater, arts and music curricula. The center will comprise several fine art studios, a choral room, scene shop, secure gallery space, a dramatic lobby and gathering space, and a 345-seat theater with an adjoining control room. Located on a highly visible, gently sloped site that is central to campus and features views of the pond, it will harmonize with the school’s traditional buildings and will serve as a ‘campus lantern’, drawing visitors into the heart of campus while providing students and faculty an engaging assembly space.
