Westwood residence hall provides housing for 32 freshmen girls. With a lounge, quiet study room, kitchen and laundry, it is designed to be an environment which fosters a sense of independence in these young women as well as convey a sense of cooperation and support from the faculty who reside in apartments at each end. Sitting on the brow of a thickly wooded slope, the building makes specific reference to the existing neo-Georgian architecture of the campus and forms the edge of a newly defined, informal residential quad.
