In accordance with the Socratic method of teaching, this intellectual community encourages a high level of interpersonal engagement beyond the limits of the classroom. To optimize this atmosphere of collegiality and scholarly exchange, our designs blur the line between areas for study and for interaction. Furnished corridors provide non-traditional spaces for group study and individual work as well as areas in which to socialize and relax. The new Admissions Suite has been located adjacent to the student Clock Lounge and is flanked by an informal study area in the adjacent corridor so that new and prospective students get a chance to both witness and experience campus life.
