Drexel University

PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA

The Centennial Bank Building was designed by the noted Philadelphia architect Frank Furness in 1876. In its new use as the Paul Peck Alumni Center, the historic banking room has been restored and converted into a conference room, also facilitating formal receptions. The original Furness office space, which was top–lit with three windowless walls, is now an art gallery displaying works from the university’s permanent collection. A key component of this project was the addition of two–story office space for Drexel’s Alumni Relations department, providing the daily presence which gives life to a building.
