As part of a larger project, the restoration of Carnegie Hall, built in 1909 on the historic main quad of Cheyney University, transformed the heavily deteriorated building into the university’s only venue for special functions hosted by the office of the President. The millwork and fireplace mantles were repaired to their original state and stained to a dark finish, the fireplaces were clean-mounted and restored to working order, and historic colors in rich, warm tones were selected to complement the elaborate millwork. Exterior efforts included deep-tuck pointing to replace damaged stones deep within the wall and a new slate roof.
