The Wharton School

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Joe’s Café, the first LEED Gold for Commercial Interiors project at Wharton School, makes use of daylighting and views, while new landscaping incorporates native and adapted plant species, which are drought tolerant and require minimal watering. Light sensors save energy by dimming lamps when there is enough ambient light, and thermal temperature is operable to help enhance occupant comfort. To help maintain healthy indoor air quality, low VOC adhesives, sealants, paints, coatings, and floor materials were used. To divert waste from the café, a food waste collection program recycles materials and composts food scraps.
