Our design response to a competition at Penn Law to redesign Pepper Hall addressed three critical areas: daylighting & sustainability, massing & scale to protect an interior courtyard, and the creation of a new entry to engage traffic from Sansom Street. The designs simultaneously attended to the key considerations of making stronger connections within the Law School, maintaining the delicate balance of a desire for collegiality with a need for privacy, and providing flexible spaces to evolve over time. The animation was modeled in AutoCAD, rendered and animated in 3DS Max Design.
