The two new 380,000 sf residential halls exemplify the school’s commitment to sustainability as the first buildings on campus to make use of geothermal wells to reduce energy usage. Providing 1,258 beds, plus common and recreational space for students, the 7-story buildings each contain ground floor student lounges, and a small tiered theater, and laundry facilities on each floor. Dorm rooms line and occupy the wings of the buildings and make use of daylighting and views. These two buildings, along with an existing residence hall form a quadrangle that provides a courtyard and gathering space for students.
