The existing building failed to meet the needs of the school. The school decided to recycle the exterior envelope while creating essentially a new interior building to incorporate a girl’s dormitory for 40, two faculty apartments, a new lounge, and classrooms. Window openings were rearranged to create a more orderly appearance, and all interior spaces were renovated to accommodate new electrical and fire protection system, new furniture, and new kitchen to create a home-like feel for the students. Main corridors were up-graded and dorm rooms also refinished. Given the increased presence on campus, the landscaping was also improved with a new brick and flagstone walk connecting back to the rest of campus.
